Metro Detroit FCA Team Basketball Camp 2023 comes to UWM Sports Complex!
​On June 9th and 10th, we hosted our second annual Metro Detroit Basketball Team Camp at the United Wholesale Mortgage Sports Complex in Pontiac, Michigan. This year’s camp increased from 6 to 14 teams competing over a two-day period. Varsity teams from Oakland, Macomb, Wayne, Genesse and Lapeer counties participated. Each team was assigned a character coach that served as FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) ambassadors. They guided the coaches and athletes into intentional time that included a sharing of the Gospel and their own personal testimony.
We were also blessed to have three outstanding guest speakers. A special thank you Jonathan Wynne and Ron White, Detroit Piston Chaplains and MSU Women’s Basketball Director of player development Dean Lockwood for the amazing messages they shared. Our staff has continued to increase engagement with varsity girls' basketball programs, and we anticipate adding at least four teams next year. Our God is greater!
