Over $12000 was raised to help support local FCA staff and to sow seeds into the SE Michigan Staff Development Fund. 59 amazing individuals that made up 15 teams took on the challenge to go low using a standard scramble format at Katke Cousins Golf Course at Oakland University. The rain held off till the end, and it turned out to be a beautiful fall day!

Thank you to Metro Detroit FCA board members Frantzie Beauduy, Bob Wingfield and Carm Bambrick who helped with check in as well as on the course and at our closing dinner program. A special thank you and well done goes out to Maria Bartolone Varner, Admin Assistant who was the driving force behind the scenes and well as on the course. It was great to have Multi Area Director Tim Morton, Metro Director Glynn Blackwell and Prospective Area Representative Hayden Beckholt as participants with their prospective teams. A special thank you to Anthony Lietz who donated his time and talents to take pictures and video for this follow up report and for creating the highlight video! We are also grateful for the effort of board members Rob Crosby, Branden Carney, Jim Lambrecht who sponsored teams and were very instrumental in the planning and execution of this event.

Congrats to Team SE Michigan FCA (Russ Liebzeit, Mike Mosher, Tim Morton, George Rumble) who one in a scorecard playoff with Team Melone Wealth (Branden Carney, Brenden Shanahan, Ben Boudro, Brian Boudro) at 10 under par! Mike Murphy on Team Lambrecht Properties won closest to the pin on hole #3. This was surpassed by Andrew Smith on Team Lambrecht Properties on hole #12 by his first hole in one! Andrew won Omaha Steaks for a year as a result of this amazing shot! Our long driver for the day was big hitter Branden Carney on Team Melone Wealth with a big blast up the hill at hole #18.  Brenden Shanahan on Team Melone Wealth was our most accurate driver for the day with a drive that was a few feet away from the exact center of the fairway on hole #1!

Finally, we want to thank Golf Services Manager Ashley Dewling and Business Office Assistant Julie McCarrel for their help in the planning and execution of the event. The Lord was watching over us as the rain stayed away so we could complete the round! Our prayer is to have this event continue to grow so we can provide resources and serve coaches and athletes in SE Michigan with excellence!
