Metro Detroit FCA Power Camp 2024 comes to Faith Lutheran Church!

From July 29th to August 1st, Metro Detroit FCA will partner with Faith Lutheran Church in Troy, Michigan to hold our first Power Camp. This camp is for boy and girl athletes entering 3rd-8th grade in fall of 2024. This camp will feature:
  • Daily theme introduced (Camp Chaplains)
  • Warm Up
  • Campers led through Power Boost at practice locations.
  • Campers compete and practice drills in the sport of their choice (Coach)
  • Snack and Break
  • Huddles go through the Power Camp Curriculum (Huddle Leaders)
  • College/High School Athlete Testimony and Closing Prayer
  • Campers are supervised until the last camper leaves (Huddle Leaders and Coaches)
This camp has limited participation in each sport due to the size of the facilities. To ensure a great experience for all involved, this camp will be limited to 30 basketball athletes and 70 soccer athletes. You can download the Camp Flyer and register below.

We are also recruiting 10-12 middle school and high school students to be huddle leaders for this camp. Upon submission and review of the application, a personal interview will be done with one of the Huddle Leader Coordinator team members. These personal interviews will be scheduled for all applicants. Date and time of interviews will be established sometime at the end of April or beginning of May. Applicants will be emailed a couple different options.

There is a possibility we will have more applicants then positions available, so special consideration will be given to applicants who are:
  • Involved with the FCA ministry throughout the school year, including your campus huddle (if one is available), attended FCA Leadership Camp and attending/volunteering at area wide FCA events during the school year.
  • Member of a high/middle school or travel sports team.
  • Available to attend the Metro Detroit FCA Power Camp Orientation scheduled for Thursday July 25th. All Huddle Leaders are required to attend this orientation session. More details will be given upon selection.
  • Servants: Being a huddle leader will likely involve having a lot of fun, but the primary reason to apply and the #1 attribute that the FCA staff is looking for is a Servant’s Heart. Campers get to focus on having fun, leaders must focus on serving.
Huddle Leaders will need to have at least one reference that is not family. Download the Huddle Leader Application and Huddle Leader Reference Letter below.
